WSD delivered the complete electrical installation associated with the sprinkler plant room and a four-room protected pre-action sprinkler system at 2 Aldermanbury Square in the City of London.
The project started with detailed coordination meetings and site surveys to establish the operational requirements of both the plant room and the protected pre-action areas. Working closely with the sprinkler contractor, the main contractor and other trades, we built an installation strategy that ensured every critical fire protection asset received resilient, compliant electrical services.
Our engineers installed containment systems, power supplies, control cabling and interface wiring throughout the sprinkler plant room and the protected areas. Particular attention was given to cable routing, equipment accessibility and future maintenance. The installation incorporated monitoring and control interfaces to enable effective communication between the pre-action systems and the wider building fire and life-safety infrastructure.
Throughout the programme, works were carefully phased to align with other trades and minimise disruption to the overall construction schedule. A comprehensive testing and commissioning programme followed, verifying the operation of every electrical system, control, alarm and monitoring function on the project. Delivery concluded with as-installed documentation, test certification, operation and maintenance information, and a formal client handover — leaving a fully operational and compliant fire protection installation behind us, delivered to BS 7671 and the project’s fire protection standards.
